Brief Bio:- Collapse Generation
Collapse Generation (whose name-sake is a song by avant-garde metal band Arcturus) took its roots in several projects, under various names such as Second Heartbeat, started by drummer Ethan Nichols and lead vocalist Thor Speeler in early 2008. In 2010, bassist Brandon Perry was quickly added to the band. Later, guitarist Oli Conlon came onto the scene. At this point the band was unsure about which musical direction to take, but stuck with a wide genre of rock music. Later that year, the band began writing original material, and stuck with a more traditional punk sound. Their most recent achievement is the long awaited release of their demo CD, which can be downloaded here. They are currently working on recording a 6-7 song EP in Ethan's "makeshift home-studio"; and with rhythm guitarist Conner Johnson back in the band, it looks to be completed before this summer. Collapse Generation is on the rise to the top, planning to go on tour the summer of 2013 when Thor, Ethan and Oli graduate High School. The band has played at local GA venues such as The Masquerade (in Purgatory, Heaven and Hell), The Atmosphere, Sherwood Forest and The Newborn Schoolhouse. In addition to Georgia they also have a growing fan-base in Costa Rica (where guitarist Oli Conlon lived for 8 years) and England (where Oli's father is from). Their early punk sound mixed with many influences in metal, blues and Latin music is a truly unique experience.
To The Fans, Friends, Family, and Anyone Who has Supported Us,
Over the past four years, we've made some memories that will last a lifetime. For that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support has meant the world to us, and though our fanbase isn't large, you're a dedicated bunch, and in the end, all of this was for you.
Things with the band have changed though. We've been moving in different directions, and we feel that it is best to end things, at least for the moment, on a high note. So, for us, it's time to start running and say goodbye, for a little while.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
